What does it take to make you happy?

What writing time looks like these days

How many hours a day do you spend doing what you love? Do you feel happy about how you spend your time?

Growing up, I always wanted to be a writer. After more than 15 years working as a communications professional, I still love it.

Since the birth of my daughter at the end of February, I’ve been reminded how much I enjoy writing.

Having an afternoon or even just a few hours of dedicated writing time is a luxury these days, but that time is incredibly fulfilling. Quite simply, writing makes me happy.

I’ve learned that even a short amount of time spent doing what I enjoy brings me joy. I could be frustrated that I don’t have as much writing time as I used to. However, I’m not. In fact, I’ve discovered that the opposite is actually the case. It doesn’t take much to make me happy.

Take a few minutes every day to do what makes you happy. The fulfillment you get from even a small amount of time can energize you.

What makes you happy? Where do you find joy in your day?
